Joy!

It's day two and I already feel like I have learned so much! I look at this photo and see joy. We got to go into one of the leprosy colonies today to do some construction. We had a little break when we got to walk around and visit some people. They were all so happy and welcoming. They smiled and laughed a lot. The thought today in the morning was: joy is not determined by circumstance. And these wonderful people from the colony are living examples of this.

We got to visit the Bindu Art School where people afflicted with leprosy paint these beautiful paintings. This man painted this although he is missing a few fingers. And some of them paint even though they have no hands. It is amazing what they do without fingers and hands! I take so much for granted.

This beautiful woman grabbed my hand during the photo. They have so much love to give.

I played some london bridges with the kiddos today.

She wanted to braid my hair, so I pulled a piece out for her to braid.
I love it here! I can't wait to see what tomorrow brings.
