Instant Love

I am here! After a two hour jeep ride with out A/C we made it to Rising Star! We met the kids this afternoon during play time. They instantly attached themselves to the volunteers. I played some games with a couple little kids. One named Abi and another little boy( I forgot his name) kept jumping up on me and wanted me to hold them. I instantly felt love for them. They are so easy to love because they give love so freely. We should all be a little more like these kids.






After this we ate dinner and then went to the children's dorms for family time. We are assigned a house with about twenty girls in it. I sat down when I got their and started to draw with a couple little girls: Amsavila and Remsha. They climbed on my lap and cuddled up close as I was drawing. They won my heart instantly.




The girls like to play a game called "Sally Walker" it has a little song, clapping and dancing with it. It was fun to play with them for a bit.



After family time it was time for them to go to sleep, so we sang to them. Little Amsa grabbed me and pulled me down on the floor (her bed) with her. I sang some twinkle twinkle little star with her. As I was leaving I gave her a hug and she said to me "Myra, you are my friend." Of course this melted my heart. What a great first day.

I already feel so much love. I already feel like I take so much for granted. These little ones sleep on the floor and this is good for them because they used to be in worse conditions. I have so much.
