This man shouted "Hallelujah" when we came up to him. He told us his name is Nabu (in English). He then kept raising his hands with no fingers and crying Hallelujah! He proceeded to start dancing and singing with a little beat-boxing. It was amazing to see how joyful he was. He grabbed each of our faces to tell us good bye.

After we left our coordinator told us his story. Nabu was blind for twenty years. He couldn't see his children and had never seen his grandchildren. The doctors wouldn't operate out of fear that he might die in surgery. He tried committing suicide a few times and finally a doctor from Rising Star told the doctors Nabu would be happy even if he died in surgery,so they finally gave in. When he woke up from surgery and could see his children and grandchildren he just kept saying "hallelujah"! This man touched my heart. He was full of love and gratitude. Tonight I was showing one girl named Angel some photos and she said this was her grandfather. What a great connection.
I got to meet my girl Thrisha's mom today. She paints at the Bindu Art School and we got to see her paint.

I showed her a photo of Trisha with her chalk drawings from the other day. And when I came back this afternoon I showed Thrisha a photo of her mom. It seemed to make them happy.

You can see the resemblance between the mom and daughter.

Tonight it was movie night and we watched a Tamil movie with the kids. It was also pouring rain and both these things made for a fantastic night! I didn't understand a word of the movie, but it was fun to cuddle with the kids and hear them laughing at the funny parts. A little girl named Abi sat with me and she was a little bored, so we started playing a clapping game where you can't show your teeth.

I tried to make her laugh by making funny faces and she was cracking up. It was sooo cute. And even when we started the game again she couldn't clap because she would start giggling. It made me laugh also.It was so fun to be silly with her!

I also played this game with Pria yesterday. It is my new favorite game. Here is a photo of her. These kids bring me so much happiness!
