Trading Spaces

I decided to decorate my room this summer. I sanded, painted, painted, and sanded some more to make my furniture look antique. I had a lot of fun with the project. Here are some before and after shots:

Catch Up!

So I have been slacking on my blogging...not that I have a huge fan club that reads my blog. There are probably like 2 of you out there...maybe..if I am lucky. But I am going to catch you up on my life the past few months.

I kept teaching art and loving it. The students did some clay projects that I was really proud of. We had a lot of fun the last few months of school. My friend (the music teacher) and I drenched all the teachers and the principal on Field Day.
And we danced our hearts out at the Fifth Grade dance. I am sure the kids were thinking "That is my teacher?!"

We went to the Clark County Fair...which I love every single year I go!

I went to see a couple musicals here in Vegas. Phantom of the Opera and Lion King. I loved them both!

There were a bizillion birthday parties for my close friends/family. I ran a couple of 5ks. One here in Las Vegas and on in California. I got my best time yet in the California one. I was proud of myself!

I am looking forward to many more adventures the next few months, because SCHOOL'S OUT FOR SUMMER!!! Next Post: San Fransisco(I am heading there in two days!)

King of the Roosters

I had my fourth graders make origami houses that they were to design as their dream houses. Inside their origami houses they had a secret room that they could put anything they wanted. As I was grading them I saw this one and laughed. Felipe's dream is to be the king of the roosters. I figured he meant roost, but then I opened his secret room and there is a rooster in it. So he really does want to rule over roosters.
